The good news was, they did have a LSD. The bad news: they were a bit more concerned with making sure they would not get shot in the dark than paying attention to the little Ancient device. Unfourtunately, they were too busy looking at their surroundings and trying to be stealthy. As they reached the trench, the headlamps from the vehicle blinded her momentarily. Cursing briefly, she backed up into the woods again, but it was too late. They had been spotted, and the gruff tone of the soldier indicated that they would not want them to come into the woods after them.

Looking to MacGregor, she jerked her head in the soldiers direction and whispered, "How do we explain to them that we are not the enemy? I'm not sure they'd be willing to believe we are travellers, even if it is the truth." She looked back in the direction of the vehicle, and the flashlight beams that were scanning the area nearby.

Lily grimaced at Samarra's question, there were only three ways she could see to deal with this situation and all of them had problems. Solution one was to dart the few yards back into the forest and try to either disapear or take a better defensive position, the only problem would be moving quickly enough that they didn't end up filled with holes. Solution two was to pretend to be women from the planet caught out gathering food or something and just trying to get home, the problem with that being that this seemed to be a rather old fasioned world and women in pants with weapons probably wouldn't go over very well. The third solution was to surrender peacefully and hope the others could rescue them, this presented the same problem as the previous solution as well as letting the two women in for a beating as POWs. It looked like solution one was the best bet, Lily sure hoped Samarra was up for the dash.

"Doc, when I say run for the tree line and hide, be prepared we'll probably need to defend our hiding spot but its better than being out in the open," Lily tossed over her shoulder as she brought her P-90 into a better firing position.

"Go, Go," she yelled seconds later, taking off in a running crouch for the tree line.

McGregor and Blackwell
The 1st Sergeant behind the wheel glared at the two figures in the woods. They didn't seem to want to readily identify themselves, which created a problem. He didn't know of any third factions aside from the fanatic Gray Legion, but their reach was limited to the Third Islands and they definately wouldn't be here in Beltarren territory.

"Watch out, they're running!" the soldier beside him shouted, and the two in the rear started to take aim and fire at the retreating shapes until they disappeared through the treeline. The other three hopped out of the jeep and started off in pursuit of the runners while the Sergeant drew his sidearm and ran down the trench to flag down another jeep and tell them what had happened. Rebels, probably, though that had sounded a hell of a lot like a woman and he didn't know of any army right now that allowed them in.
There were loud cracks of automatic rifle fire from the woods as the soldiers took a few shots at the retreating Earthlings, although from what they could tell none made their mark--at least, none fatally. These were joined by a blaze of gunfire from the machinegun one was carrying, which tore up the trees as it sought to down McGregor and Samarra; as this was going on, a pair of jeeps pulled up and cut their engines while the dark silhouettes of more Senirran troops jumped out and began heading towards the Earthlings. Sergeant Atrus continued along on the flank of the group, since where there were two strange enemies there were probably more. This would be an interesting addition to his men's service records.

Redds, Bashir and Ronon
The still night was abruptly pierced by distant gunshots and then a burst of machinegun fire from down the hill. Still no radio contact, and Redds was getting a bit nervous. Motioning for Bashir and Ronon to get the machineguns in the foxholes set up and make sure they were working, he turned towards the woods the Lieutenant had disappeared into and toggled his radio. "Lieutenant, I'm hearing shots from down there," Joe said into the helmet microphone. "Are you all right and do you need us to come down there?"
With that, he grabbed one of the LMGs in the rear side of the foxhole and got its bipod set up, putting the stock to his shoulder and aiming it downhill. "Sounds like it's gonna get a little rough-and-tumble here, folks," he said to the other two.

Samarra nodded to the Lieutenant, and readied her P-90 as well. Shifting, she winced slightly at the pain in her side, but managed to get into a position where she could move when needed. Upon MacGregor's signal, she crouched down as far as she could without ripping her stitches, and hauled it in the opposite direction. The mixed sound of machine gun fire and more vehicles grew louder, as trees nearby began to splinter from bullet impact. As she ran, she bit her lip, trying to keep up her speed, and keeping an eye on the position of Lt. MacGregor.

"So much for that idea," Samarra said, still running. She heard Redds' comment to the Lieutenant over the radio, and said, "They're hot on our tails...we're not going to lead them to the others, are we??" Even though everyone else was still in decent condition, she was pretty sure that with the arrival of the other vehicles, they would be easily outnumbered. If only there were somewhere else they could hide.

Some of the bullets whizzing by were entirely to close for Lily's liking, it only made her want to get the doc out of this situation all that much more.

"We ran into some locals and I don't think they wanted the company, keep an eye out some of them may be headed your way," Lily sent in reply to Redds message before catching up with Samarra.

"Listen, doc, we'll never outrun them, so as soon as we get around that bend in the trail were gonna double back and hide. Hopefully that'll confuse them enough that they won't find us. Just follow me."

As they hit the bend in the trail before the soldiers chasing them Lily abruptly left the trail behind, heading into the woods around them while trying to leave as little a trail as possible.
